AOLS headlines have been keeping up the recent sex changed of Sonny and Chers daughter. I'm not a very big fan of them but the headline from the article caught my eye.

I don't understand why people get gender changes. Chaz Bono states that ever since he was a child he felt like a boy, his friends were boys and in school he related to boys. This is called a tomboy. Many girls go through this, but it doesn't mean they need to go and change their gender.
ReplyDeleteBeing a tomboy and enjoying more boyish things doesn't mean that you still can;t be gender confused. I was a bit of a tomboy at heart, but I am still very girly. It is sometimes a phase, sometimes it isn't. If you feel uncomfortable in your own skin, you shouldn't have to pretend to be someone you aren't for the sake of societies' opinions of you. We are in a day and age where being free to be you, in whatever decision that is, should be okay. She or he now, obviously has found peace with herself now that she is a man. Do what makes you happy, do what feels right.
